Gutter Replacement In Buford, GA
One Continuous Run Per Side, Fewer Joints, And A Written Estimate Before Work Starts
Seamless Gutters Cut On-Site To Match Your Roofline Exactly
Overflowing gutters and rusted seams pull water where it shouldn’t go, near your foundation, your siding, and your landscaping. A proper gutter replacement in Buford, GA fixes drainage at the source instead of patching the same spot every season.
Old sectional gutters sag and split at the joints over time. Southern Exteriors replace them with seamless gutters formed on-site to your exact roofline. That’s fewer connections and a system that moves rain the way it should.
We start by measuring your roof edge and checking how water currently flows off it. Then we walk you through sizing, downspout placement, and color. You’ll see the full plan and the price in writing before any old gutter comes down.
How Southern Exteriors Handles Gutter Replacement In Buford, GA
Our gutter installation follows a set order so nothing gets skipped. Here’s how each step works and why it matters for your home.

Roofline Measurement And Water Check
First, we measure every eave and note where rainwater collects and overflows now. We look at roof pitch, valley runoff, and how many downspouts your home needs. This tells us the right gutter size and drainage layout for your house. Skipping this step is how systems end up undersized.
Getting it right up front means your new gutters handle real Buford storms without spilling over the front edge.
Removing The Old Gutters
Next, we take down the failing gutters and inspect the fascia board behind them. Old spikes and hangers often leave the wood soft or split. We flag any damaged fascia so you can decide on repairs before new gutters go up. Mounting fresh gutters over rotted wood only repeats the problem.
Clearing the edge first gives your seamless gutters a solid, straight surface to attach to.
Forming Seamless Gutters On-Site
We roll each gutter run from a single coil right at your home, cut to the length of your eave. That removes the mid-run seams where sectional gutters leak first. One continuous piece per side also gives a cleaner look along the roofline.
Because we form them on your driveway, the fit matches your house instead of pre-cut store lengths. Fewer joints means fewer future leaks.
Hanging, Sealing, And Testing Drainage
Finally, we hang the gutters with hidden brackets, set the slope toward each downspout, and seal the end caps and corners. Then we run water to confirm it drains and clears the foundation. The correct slope is what keeps standing water and mosquitoes out of the trough.
Testing before we leave means you see the drainage system working, not just installed.
Choices To Make For Your Gutter Replacement In Buford, GA
A few decisions shape how your new gutters look and perform. Here’s what to weigh on each one.

Choosing Your Gutter Size
Most homes use 5-inch gutters, but larger roofs or steep pitches often need 6-inch to keep up with heavy rain. We base the recommendation on your roof area and how much water each section sheds. Bigger gutters move more volume and clog less often. We’ll tell you which size fits your roofline during the measurement visit.
Picking Downspout Placement
Downspout location decides where water lands once it leaves the gutter. We plan runs that carry water away from the foundation and out of walkways. Corners, low points, and existing splash zones all factor in.
Good placement is what keeps a basement dry and a flower bed from washing out. You approve every downspout spot before we mount anything.
Selecting A Gutter Color
Seamless aluminum comes in a range of baked-on finishes, so gutters can match your trim, fascia, or roof. Color doesn’t change how they drain, only how they blend with the house. We’ll show you options against your existing exterior. Picking a finish that ties into your trim keeps the roofline clean instead of drawing the eye.

As you will see in the pictures, the end product…
We had the original cedar siding replaced on our house (1960 Ranch). The original cedar shakes were 17" with a 14" reveal and we wanted to go with fiber cement board in the widest possible plank format. Our sales person and project manager let us know about the James Hardie, Cedar Mill, siding in the 12" format with a 10 ¾" reveal. It was exactly what we were looking for. This particular format enabled us to maintain as much of the period look as possible. Along with re-flashing the window frames and also painting, the project could not have turned out any better. We have already had many of our friends and neighbors ask about who did the work and what kind of siding we chose... and we're happy to let them know about Southern Exteriors. In particular, our project manager, who was also the sales person we worked with, went above and beyond in his efforts to both accurately quote the project and also have it finish as close to the forecasted time as was reasonable. He was the only person from the three companies we approached for quotes to spend time in our crawlspace and attic, and was the only person to actually removed original shingles to confirm what lay beneath. As you will see in the pictures, the end product was worth the money.
Common Questions About Gutter Replacement In Buford, GA
Here are the questions we hear most often before a gutter project starts.
Do you handle downspouts and drainage too?
A: Yes, downspouts and drainage are part of every gutter replacement we do. We plan placement, so water lands away from your foundation and walkways, then test the flow before we leave. The gutter and its drainage system are one job, not separate visits.
Do you offer gutter replacement outside Buford, GA?
A: Yes, Southern Exteriors serves homeowners throughout Gwinnett County, GA for gutter replacement. If you’re nearby and need residential gutters replaced, reach out through the form and we’ll confirm your address is in our service area.
How long does a gutter installation take?
A: Most residential gutter replacements finish in a single day. Larger homes or ones needing fascia repair take a little longer. We form the gutters on your property, so the whole run goes up in one visit once measuring and any wood repairs are done.
What does gutter replacement cost in Buford, GA?
A: Cost depends mostly on the total length of your rooflines, the gutter size, and how many downspouts and corners the job needs. Two-story access and any fascia repair also affect the price. We measure your home and give you the full number in writing before work begins, so there are no surprises later.
What happens if you find rotted fascia during removal?
A: We flag it and show you before we hang new gutters. Old spikes and years of overflow often leave the fascia board soft. Mounting gutters on damaged wood repeats the problem, so we’ll walk you through repair options first, then set the new system on a solid edge.
What size gutters do I need?
A: Most homes work well with 5-inch gutters, while larger or steep roofs often call for 6-inch to handle heavier runoff. We calculate it from your roof area and how much water each section sheds. You’ll get a size recommendation during the measurement visit.
Why are seamless gutters better than sectional ones?
A: Seamless gutters have no joints along each run, which removes the spots where sectional gutters usually leak first. We form them on-site from one coil, cut to the length of your eave. Fewer seams means fewer leak points and a cleaner line across your roof.
